Aviva Pilgrim will teach the basics of carving and printing a linoleum block. Participants will start by drawing a design, transferring it onto the block, carving, and end with printing onto cardstock to create their own Valentine's cards. They will leave with their own set of carving tools, a linoleum block, and 10 cards and envelopes for printing their own design (or trading with others). Students can come with an idea or drawing or find inspiration in the class.
Participants will learn the basic techniques of photography, how to take pictures on a 35mm camera and develop their film. All levels and ages 16+ welcome. Film cameras and supplies will be provided, but feel free to bring your own. All proceeds go towards starting a community darkroom in Northwest Arkansas.
